About Ohio's Accredited Catholic Schools

Across Ohio, there are more than 365 Catholic elementary and secondary schools serving over 111,000 students and their families. These schools are staffed by approximately 10,000 licensed professionals.

Every Catholic elementary and secondary school listed is designated by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce as a chartered nonpublic school. These schools meet all operating standards as required by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce and State law.

“The mission of schools is to develop a sense of truth, of what is good and beautiful.”

Pope Francis

Eighty-one percent of Catholic school students attending a Catholic elementary school during the 2022-23 school year chose to attend a Catholic high school during the 2023-24 school year.

Ninety-four percent of the seniors in our 75 secondary schools went on to college or university after graduation in 2023.

Seventy-five percent of the 2023 graduating seniors received a scholarship to continue their education.

Approximately two percent of the 7,924 graduates were National Merit Finalists or Semi-finalists.
